GBWest is nowhere close to it's peak for me. If I'm being honest I'm not sure even my long time loyalty to the site would have kept me subbed to Gbomb this year if not for GBeast saving the site. Jeff is a very funny guy but there's no question he's pretty chill/low energy and sometimes pretty jaded/negative. That's quite fine on it's own when he has some people with contrasting personalities to bounce off of (like Dan/Vinny) and keep him on his toes but unfortunately everyone else at GBWest has a pretty similar temperament (and game tastes and sense of humor) as Jeff now. It feels too monotone and predictable.

A lot of UPFs this year they mostly just look bored with only enough energy for the occasional quip, and I get bored too. Sometimes their content is still quite funny, but there is definitely something lacking without energetic wildcards like Dan or Vinny there to throw a wrench in things, bring new content ideas and baffle guys like Jeff in a way that's fun to watch. They need a baffler, they needed 2 hires but unfortunately so far they only got one (and another seems a way off yet).

You contrast it to GBeast where almost every stream they look like they are having the time of their lives, laughing, having fun, coming up with new ideas and getting up to all sorts of ridiculous shenanigans with each other. It's unpredictable, it's fun and feels more like some close friends are just having fun hanging out playing games and the audience is just another friend along for the wild ride, which is how original Whiskey Media Giantbomb felt and made many of us fall in love with the site.
