I look at it as an act of desperation.

I believe they've been slipping this shit into our entertainment, and our news media has been subtly guided by this ideology for many years before this, but because no one seemed to be aware of it, there was no reason to crank it up to 10. The few people who'd cry "socialism" during the Obama years were effectively brushed off as dumb and racist, and their clout quickly diminished.

It's only within the last 6-7 years that there has been any real organized pushback, and I think things like Trump's presidency and Brexit has them realizing there is a real threat to their power now. Their old tricks aren't working, and their increased aggression is just a sign that we've hurt them. They were never going to go without a fight, so I wouldn't be deterred by the more blatant propaganda and attempts at censorship. It's just part of the process.
