I don't want a new CD, I want new shows to listen to on repeat.

Just curious, are you a musician? 'Cause remembering how 200+ songs go for a tour, while on stage with distracting lights and crazy fans, is probably a tad more difficult than you think.

It's totally normal for a well-practiced musician to totally forget what the hell they are doing on stage in the middle of a song. And one flub can lead to more and more and more as the nerves take over.

Yes, Trey sounds incredibly practiced to me. I'm also a musician and I get what is going on with their music, both in jams and composed sections, so I'm cool with giving a bit of leeway to a band that's been around for 30 years filled with guys who are in their 50's.

I would definitely agree that the band is not as practiced as they should be. This is definitely why they've been losing steam, puddling out, and having Trey ripchord into the next song. Even if it sounds pretty and ambient, it really isn't because if you listen closely everyone is getting musically lost. Trey pulling a ripchord is frustrating, and sometimes it's unwelcome and way too fucking early, but other times I totally get why he's pulling it. Everyone is lost and it's probably better that they move on to a new song and get some more energy going, rather than having everyone just totally lose each other and end up fading the song out awkwardly.

Hell, I just watched Phil Lesh & Friends fuck up a jam and fade out a few times last night at TxR. It's just as unpleasant as a ripchord, but then we all have to deal with the deafening silence afterwards.

Damn, give the band some credit, or take a break from them.
