Is the exmormon community like a cult? Yes, in certain ways it is. Guess old habits die hard.

There’s really no need to be saddened for me though. I get joy from the memes in here.

But most of my joy comes from living a life that isn’t based on fear. I found it much easier to get outside of myself and love others more fully once I let go of all the anxieties like wearing specific underwear, and treating said underwear with more respect than an American flag.

I’m sure you’ve got your reasons for staying in this church. I have my reasons for leaving it. Everyone here has their reasons, but have you ever sincerely asked what those reasons were?
