Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps donates $5 Million to MAPS for MDMA study.

Fantastic. These studies deserve far more research considering how successful preliminary studies have been. Personally speaking I can't quite speak highly enough of using psychedelics in a positive way. My last yearly trip ended in me quitting smoking, and getting back in shape in a pretty serious way.

At the same time: we have to be slightly careful not to want to see only the positive in such things. I think there's obvious arguments about age limits and use;

Conclusions: Ecstasy use during adolescence may be associated with poorer mental health; however, this association can be explained by the confounding social influence of family dynamics. These findings could be used to aid effective evidence-based drug policies, which concentrate criminal justice and public health resources on reducing harm.

And outside of simply that; I know a number of individuals (some of whom i've been required to care for at these times) who simply do not mix well with psychedelics or even things like MDMA. I don't tend to like the term 'bad trips', but I think there's a good argument to be made you need to be in 'the right place' mentally to take them, not necessarily happy, or good: or that would obviously make their use for mental health rather pointless, but it's very dependant on the person. When I was in my deepest depressions, giving me psychadelics wouldn't have (And didn't, because god knows I tried.) helped in the slightest, and really probably actually put me back farther than they got me.

That's all without the context of medical proffesionals being involved in the loop however. It's refreshing to see the attitudes shift. I had issues getting sleeping medications about 10~ years ago because I was always extremely open with my doctors about my experimentation's and use. That does not seem to be an issue in the same way now'a'days, at least, not where I am.
