Dreadit Discussion: Weekly Watch Report - March 06, 2015

Nurse 3D (2013) Holy shit this was a bad movie. It did have Katrina Bowden (Tucker & Dale) as the one tormented by the title character, but besides that, bad story, bad lead actress, uninspired, etc.

Wolfcop (2014) I really wanted to love this...I didn't, but I liked it. Silly, as expected, I can't say what would have put it over the top for me, but nothing I'd rush to watch twice.

Hayride (2012) Briefly discussed in the Hayride 2 thread. I rented this off NF because of the pending sequel. Very little blood for a slasher, no sex, dull story and characters, poorly acted. I don't know how this Alabama Indie got a sequel, let alone a limited theatrical release, but hey, maybe it's a re-do with a better budget. A slasher doesn't particular need a great plot to get the job done, so I probably will eventually check the sequel out.

V/H/S: Viral (2014) I'm really shocked at the horrible reviews I've been reading. Left me with zero expectations. Worth it for the Nacho Vigalondo (Time Crimes, Extraterrestrial) segment alone. The rest of the segments were mediocre. The magician one was easily watchable. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this was outstanding, or on the level as it's predecessors, but not garbage either.

Digging Up the Marrow (2014) Adam Green plays himself and shows off his T-Shirt collection in this mockumentary about an eccentric man (Ray Wise) who knows where real monsters live. It had its moments, def a must see for Green fans.

retro:

Snapshot aka One More Minute (1979) Aussie thriller about a model who sudden (modest) fame puts in danger with stalkers and people who would take advantage. Slow paced, good ending, nudity.

Evil Dead 2 (1987) Would you believe I hadn't seen this in about 20 years? I saw it over and over as a teenager though. I had seen the first about 2x over the last 10 years, and can finally form the opinion that 1 is better than 2.
