The only thing I hate about when celebs donate something to raise money is like... the item then needs to be sold or auctioned, right?

Like wouldn’t giving money definitely be what would help more, and it wouldn’t be someone else funding the donation.

I’m pretty baked so tell me if I’m wrong.

Like nobody can eat these shoes right? So they’re not going directly to a food bank, they have to be turned in to cash.

You wouldn’t trade these for a cart full of groceries so it can’t go towards helping the unemployed.

Like what is the thought behind donating an item > money? Genuine question. I know I sounded like I’m throwing hella shade, and I mean it totally does help! but I honestly just can’t wrap my brain around it...
