ELI5: Why haven't the lower and middle class Amercians declared a revolution against the upper class and upper class politicians?

here are a bunch of minority groups who don't have things as great as others."

You contradict yourself. Are they a collection of minorities, or AMERICANS?? If you don't want to call them AMERICANS, fine, but you can't very well call them AMERICANS then say they don't count towards the "average American"!!

Are you employed? ...you're a minority. Are you retired? ...you're a minority. Are you unemployed? ...you're a minority.

YOU are a minority.

So on behalf of all minorities... Fuck you for claiming just YOUR minority gets to have and eat a cake.

Your average Chechen.

Chechnya isn't ranked.

The pooret American people (which are not average) have far more money and conveniences than the majority of the world.

The U.S. ranks 6th by median income. However, we also rank 12th for MOST hours worked (and the 5 higher by median income... rank LOWEST for hours worked [and suicide rates]).

But, if we look at the bottom 90%, we make an average of a bit over $30,000. The bottom 40% a tad under $20,000. (The global median income is a tad less than $10,000.) Of course, this doesn't tell the whole story (for global or U.S.), since it only accounts for income, not spending power, and completely ignores the unemployed.

Yes, the "average" American is better off than the "average" citizen of earth. But the U.S. is ~10th in per capita wealth (PPP), yet rank 80th by suicide, 2nd in incarceration rates (thanks Seychelles, for making us look less shitty), 17th in corruption, between 4th and 7th in health care (despite spending twice the best), 54th in unemployment (though all communist countries by definition rank well), 16th in democracy, 96th in wealth disparity, 38th in human rights...

Sadly, the stats that really count - like a standard metric for quality of life - simply don't exist. But the stats that are available show that the United States lags in every metric I've ever bothered to find except those we don't want to be a leader in, like suicide rates.
