Elon Musk making “kid-sized submarine” to rescue teens in Thailand cave: "Construction complete in about 8 hours," the tech billionaire tweeted Saturday.

Let me clarify, because I was writing at 2am and upset that a group of teenagers might die. The example I use to teach socialism is the difference between a bank and a credit union. As another mentioned, collective ownership by the members instead of by a private board or individual.

As I mentioned multiple times there is not a single country that I know of that had one of the 4 theoretical pure economic models being used. Maybe North Korea with a command economy. Most of the countries that people think of as socialist are a mixed model.

Denmark has a parliament which means that they have better representation for a larger number of views. When you have a two party system it makes you think that there’s no room for nuance since you are always against someone. If you have the entire spectrum represented it becomes less extremely divided and more catered to the will of the people since the vast majority of people are moderate on most issues and ideologies. I didn’t bring up Denmark but that’s cool that they have a capitalist economy if they’d like.

I am a socialist and I have the right to use a credit union or co-op over a bank or privately owned store if I like. That doesn’t mean we have a socialist government. Just like people can choose to live in a commune and live off the land if they’d like and that doesn’t mean our country is communist. The freedom of the individual to choose different from the economy of the entire country. This is why having mixed economies are a better practice than a pure theoretical one.

I am sorry for wasting your time, as my inability to express myself clearly cause a bit of confusion. My original point still stands though that communism and socialism are not the same thing, and a lot of people don’t like Elon Musk for a lot of reasons regardless of economic preference. It takes all types and beliefs to create a well-rounded society.
