Employees of Boeing, what has the culture been at work the past few weeks?

Here's a startng point.

If you take the time to google around you can find the rest of the information. 787 flies fine, but from a business point of view its been pretty bad. They're (Boeing) not making anywhere near the profit they expected and the pay back period has been way longer than they wanted. The nuppliers probably don't care because their business model was different. They were investing in new capability and now are in a market position to dictate to Boeing prices, and even some of Boeing's. A large part of the MAX's existence is due to the 787 program delays preventing the on time development of the carbon fibre 737 successor (Y1, Y2, Y3 etc programs at Boeing.) Its all googleable if you look around. Probaly look at the inital orders for the 787, which were all large orders by Japanese airlines, that never cancelled or scaled back even when the 787 was delayed by years.
