My neighbor had just had a baby. She called me and said she didn’t feel well and asked if I could come over and watch the baby. I went over to find her slumped over in the shower and hemorrhaging. I’m a mother baby nurse, so I massaged her fundus and all these blood clots came out. The bleeding slowed, so I buckled the baby in the car seat, got my neighbor somewhat dressed, and drove her to the hospital (which is luckily like 3 minutes away). Turns out she had retained placenta.

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I didn’t answer or wasn’t at home but I’m glad that I was in the right place at the right time and that everything turned out ok.
