Falling behind on rent, can't find a place to move. What can I do?

Because unlike u/grilledscheese instead of making excuses for their circumstances on reddit, I'm actually doing something about it.

I've been working/self studying since I graduated from highschool, my parents are immigrants who lost their academic equivalency then they came to Canada and kind of gave up and accepted their min wage life like so many others. I did not. I've ground out sleepless nights learning how to code, worked for min wage, while starting my software contracting business. I've commuted 6 hrs everyday for a year for my first job because I knew the effort would be worth it. Heck these days I'm making mid six figures and still finding time to go back to finish my undergrad because I had to drop out the first time around.

People like to blame the last two years they'd still be here regardless of the pandemic because moving up without help takes a LOT of effort, dedication and focus. They want their "standard of living" but don't want to work for it. Guess what, unless your mommy and daddy were millionaires you have to put in the work, and not menial work, smart work. Research what industries are hiring, network with professionals who have jobs you'd like to get in to, gain skills and knowledge to get the jobs you want. Sure you could go out and get a PhD in English Literature but what value are you going to produce for a business with that skillset?
