Fathers of Reddit, how would you react if your adult son wrote this letter to you concerning his future?

The depression experienced by men with very low testosterone is a low-grade form of what we know as dysphoria.

How do you know? What makes you qualified to judge how a "normal" low testosterone brain feels like?

largely lifted the first day I experimented with interacting with other people as a woman. I'd spent a decade trying to figure out how to take down the 'wall' between me and other people, and it vanished overnight.

And in return, I can not imagine that, conversely I don't get how the dick was stoping you from interactind with people "like a woman." that is the issue I have. BEcause you don't change, you are still you, you just get rid of a cognitive limitation. That is what makes it hard for me to treat it as more than a behavioral dissorder, your limitation that is preventing you from being you is psychological, not physical.

But transitioning was incredibly good for me, across the board. I went from an unmotivated, depressed shut-in to an energetic, enthusiastic, affectionate and driven person.

So do kids when they get of a diet.Your argument is that you feel better, my arguement is that nothing is fixed, you just got your OCD satisfied for the moment. Be awesome, live a healty live and prove me wrong, my experience with post op trans is limited, but unlike gay people their condition is not a sustainable state, they are not emotionally healthy people that just need acceptance and protection from judgement.

But it does fix a lot of them, and removes a huge stressor that makes the rest much, much easier to deal with.

If you say so, I can not conceive how someone that would have voluntary plastic surgery at a voung age can ever be happy about who he/she is.
