Is fear not a normal feeling for someone about to be a ftm? Because people keep looking at me like I'm growing an extra head when I say I'm kinda scared.

You will continue to feel it afterwards.

My husband's grandmother said something like "you'll be fine, there are meth heads who manage to raise children. I'm sure you two will be great parents."

Doesn't stop you from wondering if you let your kid watch too much TV. If you've forever screwed up their sleep schedule. If you will screw up their dietary palette feeding them purees instead of baby led weaning.

Other people will tell you that you worry too much.

I've come to accept that worry.. fear for the well being off your child and if you're doing the right things or going to do the right things is part of what it means to be a parent. Other people can brush it off and tell you that you're doing "fine" and everything will be "fine" but that doesn't stop the worry.
