Feedback on BPS elementary schools

I know OP is asking about BPS specifically but I wanted to share our experience as our initial expectation when we moved back to the city was that we would be able to send our children to a neighborhood school but quickly found out that’s not how it works here. We had hoped to send them to North Park Academy as it was just a few blocks over, and we assumed if not there, then there’s plenty of other schools within the area but our son ended up being bussed out to a low performing school and felt like he had been held back several grades. We ended up having to put him in St Mark’s for a year, and while that wasn’t a great experience, it at least kept him at grade level. Our daughter got into CSAT that year and our son chose CSAT the following year. Both went onto graduate from CHSAT. Other than their time at Smallwood early on.. I’d say the teachers at CSAT/CHSAT were the most engaging and brought out the best of our kids of any of the other schools they attended. We weren’t high on charter schools initially, and the school certainly has it’s issues (like any) but I’m glad things ended up the way they did. Just wanted to share for anyone who might be curious or unsure about charters as an option.
