I feel bad for the kid.

or... just hear me out... it's a refreshing type of honesty and that knowledge that things are the opposite of good between your folks....

... and that you're the opposite of why they hate each other...

could be the healthier option to, say, keeping the kid in the dark about everyone's exact feelings

like, kids are smart, and they pick up on vibes easily. the kid would just be confused about the hateful energies

and there might absolutely be good reasons for the "hatred"

like, be honest with the kid if someone cheated and you can't forgive them, but the kid is worth working at least somewhat around that so both you clearly don't hate the person enough for sole custody and that shows the kid that they shouldn't hate their parent just because the other parent does

like, this whole thread just seems like a whole bunch of biases and since we don't know how much or why they hate each other...

anyways, ramble over, tbh this is a thing that isn't just for straights either.

my gut says that the kid being fully aware of the context of their parents relationship is far from the worst thing for the kid

and since life is messy, I think it'd be a better world if we were more able to take and see photos like this

i think it's a triggering image for a lot of reasons, but it's got layers and nuance that a ton of people here are just plain ignoring because it freaks them out
