Considering the people in these memes hate each other so much, why did they get together?

I've asked myself this question several times and I think I've figured out two answers.

Either

A: they had a one night stand, and what's the worst result of a one night stand? an unexpected child. so they probably thought they had to be in a relationship because either they didn't believe in abortion, or they just didn't have the money for one, so they got married and were stuck in something loveless, sterile and worst of all, hateful. so they resorted to stereotypical "My wife sucks" or "my husband is dumb" jokes.

Or

B: they're just really old people who only got married because it was considered socially acceptable at the time and they've hated each other for years. it's less interesting but it's more realistic
