I feel like an atheist in spirit but when it comes down to do I'm way too questioning to be one

Your argument seems to be purely centered around the notion and claim by another that a god/being created the Universe.

But not all faiths / paths make such claims, and some have actually, long ago, refuted such.

"Good men should combat the believer in divine creation, maddened by an evil doctrine. Know that the world is uncreated, as time itself is, without beginning or end, and is based on the principles, life and rest. Uncreated and indestructible, it endures under the compulsion of its own nature.

Jainism and non-creationism

What problems of humanity has religion ever solved?

Answer: nothing, because religions focus on the Unknowns of Imaginationland, rather than asking the really hard questions about finding shit out.

Really??? The FUNCTION of religion is not tasked with "finding shit out."

The function of religion rests in the creation of meaning, and the grounding of the Unknowns & Unimaginables. You keep asking these questions, like 2+2 and scratching / banging your head when you're getting the answer Blue and thinking that the system must be broken instead of considering that you're asking the wrong type of questions given the system at hand.

Religion does not have the tools or techniques that will ever satisfy the burden or level of proof that the system of science deems acceptable. But they're different systems whose functions are ultimately different and who speak & utilize different languages and techniques of investigations.

It's like you're comparing apples and oranges using the scientific method & a blind taste test. Just because the blind taste-test can't tell you what the chemical make-up of citrus or w/e is doesn't mean it can't tell you something valuable about what an orange or apple is, and what some of the differences between them are.
