Yup. If you can get away with it, renting a house/apartment(and get permission) or own one go for the big striker plate kit and use 3 in steel screws. If you can't use one that big go for the small plate which is also effective and cheaper. This only protects a kick in and not a lock picker, which depending on who it is can be surprisingly quick and easy to get in. In that case, add one of these latches with 3 in screws, to use at night while at home. So now you have kick proof and pick proof door. Much slower entry, but they can probably get in if they are very determined. Most won't stick around though. It's all about layered security.
