In a surprise to no one paying attention, Republicans screwed the pooch.

Between Dobbs and the literal donkeys endorsed by Trump, as well as their refusal to budge on Marijuana....this really isn't surprising.

Takeaways are that Trump absolutely needs to go (for those who hadn't figured it out yet), Dobbs motivated a Demographic that generally doesn't show up for Midterms, and that "waves" in general don't seem to occur much anymore. Most of the predicted red and blue waves of the past few years have completely fizzled out. Makes me wonder if more people are voting split tickets than in the past, Hell I vote a split ticket with the intention of gridlock.

As for us, I imagine it's another 2 years of gridlock, which is fine by me. A Dem Senate makes the stakes higher, but I have my suspicions that there are some Dems who are still against nuking the filibuster but in the closet about it. There's also some evidence to suggest that John Tester won't support egregious gun control positions. Most of it is probably moot with a Republican House, the mere threat of removing the filibuster makes me think a Republican House is unlikely to let much of anything through.
