Measure 114 had its [first ruling] in federal court (https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ord.170381/gov.uscourts.ord.170381.39.0.pdf) for a temporary restraining order. The judge basically said that the plaintiffs didn't prove that standard capacity magazines are in common use, they're dangerous, and they're novel, so it was denied. All the tests of Bruen were reversed exactly and the onus was on the plaintiff to prove that magazines were historical rather than bans on them? (Bonus points for ignoring Caetano along with Heller and Bruen)! She issued a 30 day stay on the permit-to-purchase scheme since it's not anywhere near ready yet. The Firearm Policy Coalition/Second Amendment Foundation suit received a "lol, ditto" response.

Luckily, in state courts just three hours later, a temporary restraining order was granted with a suit arguing that the state constitution is more stringent than the Second Amendment. The attorney general is going to ask the state supreme court to intervene. Without intervention from judges elected by a Democratic-party voter base, the new date for implementation of the full law is the 18th. Oral arguments will be heard before then on whether or not to extend that date.

Probably ought to carry a 'stendo until then just because I can.
