Cabinet around safe

Let me guess, you bought a Liberty or Cannon model, right? Or something that was advertised as a 30 gun safe, runs about 200-400 pounds, and looks girthy? Probably had a 'huge' marked up discount, like $200 down from $600 or more?

All of those safes are made in the same factory, with 14 gauge steel, then they slap in sheetrock and some weights to give the appearance of durability. None of them are any better than a Stackon Cabinet, especially since you've done the right thing and anchored it to the wall and floor. That's the best thing to do.

Anyone who gets physical access to your safe is going to get into it, period - you can look it up yourself, there are numerous videos of 5k+ safes getting cracked open in just a few minutes with simple tools.

The safe is there to prevent people from just walking off, to secure the gun against people who don't need access (like kids), and to delay people.

Adding more layers of shit around it isn't really going to do that, any better than it's already doing it on its own, they'll just use the angle grinder on the door or cut through the layer you add etc.
