Some will probably get upset by my saying this, but the WKW box set. I think for various reasons they should have released the original cuts in addition to the revised versions, with alternate restoration of the films.

I also am disappointed whenever there isn't a commentary with a release. I understand the reasons why this is sometimes the case, but it's always disappointing to me regardless. I always get a lot out of the commentaries, especially if someone involved in the film's production is involved. Reading an essay or watching a discussion of it in a separate video is never as immediate.

There are specific releases where I've generally just been underwhelmed by multiple things. Carol Reed films come to mind -- Night Train to Munich and Fallen Idol are films I love but Criterion was a little skimpy on supplements.
