I had to sneak getting my 2nd booster because my parents think the covid vax was dangerous. They’ve fallen deep into the antivax rabbit hole. Surprisingly, at first, they were fine with driving me to the doctor to get my first two doses when they first came out back in Spring 2021, but once I got my first booster, shit hit the fan with them. We’ve gotten into full blown arguments and they’d tell me things like “You’d get every shot in the world if you could.” “You love shots! You can’t get enough of them!” “Lay off them shots!” Etc. It’s honestly strained our relationship. And when I brought up “How about we ask our family doctor if they’re safe of not since you go to him to treat your asthma and other illnesses? Like, you trust him for everything else but when it comes to the covid vax, you don’t?” And she threatened to ground me for saying that. My mom actually cried and begged me not to get anymore shots as a last resort saying she’s afraid “the clot shots will kill me.” In an attempt to manipulate me. I’ll be honest when I say I wouldn’t even care if both of my parents caught Covid or even developed complications from it. After what they’ve said to me about getting vaccinated, I’d feel that’d just be Karma paying them a visit. I kinda feel bad for saying this but do you really blame me?
