Forbes Article : I Don't Worry That 'Batman V Superman' Is Bad. I Worry That It Is Unconventionally Great

I don't like that we're getting this type of articles before the movie is out. It screams of studio desperation to me.

Remember months and months ago, one of the first things we heard was that Affleck was killing it as Batman (Eisenberg as Luthor too), and that the WB execs were so amazed by this movie that 1) they stood up and clapped when shown footage, and 2) that they wanted to make solo Batman movies immediately (and thus delaying a third movie in the Superman franchise, since BvS is technically a MOS sequel). Wonder Woman is in this movie in a role not yet fully explained although we know she's in a supporting role in this movie, plus her movie is being shot now and that is her solo movie so that character will have her time in the sun. But where is the talk about Superman?

I don't like that the one thing we keep hearing (and seeing) over and over again is how great Affleck is as Batman, and Eisenberg as Luthor. I mean I like that, but I don't like that it is the only thing we hear. What about Superman? You know? The Man of Steel? That guy. Where is that guy? Where are his cool moments in all of this hype? Where's his 25 second focus alone on a trailer? What's the talk about Cavill as Superman? Why are we not hearing these things? I know us here like him. I know we talk about him, even if we talk more about Batman, but hell, where's the studio talk on Superman? Where are this cool moments in the trailers?

Now we are getting articles on how even if the movie bombs at least Batman will be good, and that video earlier even suggested that WB might want to mesh Lex and Batman somehow. Basically suggesting to get rid of the Man of Steel and pair these two. And with SS, I mean, talk about a movie still being half a year away and people already screaming about how good the movie looks, how badass Joker is, who is Eastwood playing, is Deathstroke in it? Enchantress as the main bad guy? Katana looks amazing! El Diablo man he looks cool! What's that thing in the subway? Killer Croc fighting Katana? Boomeran drinking a beer in the middle of a shootout! Is Slipknot going to die? And I'm not even going to mention Harley and Deadshot. So you got all of that over there, all the Batman hype in BvS, Luthor as this crazy scientist/business man... And where's the talk on Superman?

Is this happening because the movie is bad and won't connect to the audience? Is the movie good but only the parts with Batman will connect? What is happening? How did this movie went from being all that it could be to having the internet bloogers and news articles doubt it before it comes out? I don't remember TDK or TDKR having this kind of doubters. I don't remember doubting myself on whether those movies were going to be good or not. I don't remember these kinds of articles about those movies. What happened?
