i’m feeling really epically frustrated.

my husband and i moved into my parents house (split level house, we live on the top story and they live on the bottom story) - anyways we moved here around the end of 2019, planning on it just being a year or so until we could buy our own house.

well, obviously, that did not work out - covid, insane housing prices, etc.

fast forward to last year, around July, my brother and his girlfriend got evicted from their apartment. my parents bought them an RV and moved them into the backyard. so now, not only do my husband and i share a house with my parents, but my brother and his girlfriend are living in an RV in the backyard.

to make matters worse my brothers girlfriend and i do not get along at all, and she has always been disrespectful of me, my items, and my space. it’s incredibly frustrating.

my mom always makes comments about how she will never make them move out, and does not care how long they live here. which … is fine - i mean it is her choice, considering it’s her house and her kid. idk. but my brother has no job, and his girlfriend works once or twice a week - just enough to buy the bare essentials. she always says she ‘won’t choose’ between us.

my husband works 10 hour shifts, 5 days a week, at a construction job and even works most saturdays - if not at his job, he does lots of projects around the house that need to be done. but he is still the one who gets asked to do most things, and my parents are really impatient with him not doing things ‘quick enough’ when realistically he has maybe one day a week to do anything at all.

i’m just feeling incredibly defeated and like nothing is going to get better, we live in Oregon and the cost of a 1bd 1br house is absolutely absurd. like, i have no idea how anyone is buying houses right now. if we ever hope to buy anything it feels like we are going to have to move out of state and that freaks me out. ugh.

ok, sorry that was so long and bitchy i just had to get that off my chest, since i can’t really tell anyone all of that lol. can someone just crash the housing market so we can buy a house for a normal price? k thanks <3
