This always confused me about socialists. Labor can own the means of production right now if they wanted, there is nothing stopping them.
In fact, the USA has a population of 310+ million people, if even 1% of them have socialist sympathies, then that would be 3.1 million people. If only 2 million of those people had part time jobs that were "exploiting" them, all they would need to do is pony up $3 per day, or $100 per month, and that would be $200 million dollars per month in capital they could buy the means of production with. Or $1.2 billion dollars per year. You can buy or make a lot of factories with 1.2 billion dollars per year, and they would even own the shares. In fact, a decent warehouse in the midwest costs about 4 million, a high end CNC machine a half million. Cost of steel per ton is $300-800 per metric ton. I saw a 2000 acre farm for sale just the other day for under 4 million. What the fuck is stopping them? The fact they they can't take themselves seriously enough to put their money where their mouth is, why the fuck should I?
