I think there is plenty of interest in the other direction, you're just not going to find much of it on the internet. There are social circles with ample opportunity for female connections. Not as many of them are sitting in their rooms trying to connect over what I see constantly posted in this forum which is anime and video games (not saying it's impossible there are some, but if you need to diversify your passions if you want to expose yourself to the maximum amount of friend, relationship, and professional/work acquaintance potential). In addition to that sometimes you have to connect over something else and bring people into your passions. That's what I did with my wife, she'd never played a video game in her life when I met her, now she plays games 5-10 hours a week and loves them and we share special memories together of her having discovered this interest WITH me.

It reminds me of this argument I keep having with my buddy who is single and a smoker. He keeps saying well... I want someone who accepts me for who I am anyway so fuck it I'm gonna keep smoking, and I told him... man that's a cop out, you need to expose yourself to as many people as possible, you are limiting your relationship pool significantly by smoking and it has nothing to do with being who you are.... it's just part of investing in yourself so that others see your worth.

Having more diverse hobbies and passions, will open up doors in all three of those things (friends, relationships, professional connections), and the more you improve yourself, your career, your hobbies, your physical fitness, etc, the more they all play off each-other. You need to invest in yourself, it takes time and effort. ..but particularly MEN need to invest in themselves if they want exposure to female interest, because that's just how our society works right now. It's not hard though, it just takes a conscious decision to do it and a, sometimes hard/long (that's what she said), commitment.
