Gates Teacher-Effectiveness Program Shows No Gains for Students

But you're not working with me at all.

Right now, here is what I know about your position.

1) You do not like factory schooling

2) ...?

How can I have a discussion with you about the subject if you don't elaborate? I don't know what books you've read, what examples are in your noodle, you need to share that stuff you're thinking so I can understand what you are advocating for and we can achieve a higher degree of mutual understanding.

This has turned into an endless attempt to prove me wrong, when all I set out to do was outline an idea that our whole educational framework is wrong-headed

That's the point of a debate. We both try to prove each other wrong, poke all the holes we can in each other's arguments, and hopefully we walk away smarter than when we started.

You say the whole education framework is wrong-headed, okay. How is it wrong headed? Can you give me some examples you think illustrate the problem? What solutions do you propose? Can you cite historical examples of these programs being put into practice?
