An ex friend of mine did this to me. She asked me to watch her cat, I worked in vet med for ages so yeah no big deal as long as my animals are cool with it. Sweetest cat, her teeth were so bad, so much drooling, god the smell. I wasn’t trying to be a dick about it but asked has she had her mouth checked? She could hardly eat. Friend said she can’t afford it. I broke down how much the extractions would cost and told her really the sooner the better or she’s going to get sick and need most of her mouth pulled which will cost an arm and a leg, you can use care credit or get her enrolled with insurance. Still wouldn’t do it. And didn’t pick up the cat for an additional two weeks. I told her I can get her a discount with the vet I worked with. Still no. We don’t talk anymore, several other times she took advantage of me I was done. I’m pretty sure she doesn’t still have the cat which I feel awful about but it’s been a few years. At that time I was hardly staying afloat so I couldn’t pay for treatment.
