Here's the thing though, Mick West doesn't have any credentials and since I know very little about aviation or radar technology, I can be convinced of a lot of things that may be false or misleading.

To know whether Mick West is making a good point, I'd need a decorated Navy pilot with a few thousand hours of flight time sitting next to me to provide a balanced counterpoint. It could be that all these optical illusions are things that would fool a layperson, but not an experienced pilot.

Letting Youtube "debunkers" persuade me is no different than letting Youtube conspiracy theorists persuade me. They all make great points when you don't know shit about the topic.
