#GE2017 Barbarism or Socialism

you completely misheard what he said. he was saying Corbyn is anti-establishment, and that the bookies knew it. the comment about the bookies was appended onto the end of a sentence about the reality that Corbyn is, in some way, against the rotten tide of the normal, his victory would be a massive upset. Why is that a conspiracy?

nevertheless don't be so uncritical. Bookies odd's aren't magic. Because they're business risk we tend to think in this business society they simply must be magic, or science, but look at Corbyn's first win against the odds. The reduction of politics to a probability is itself a form of ideology aimed at sustaining the normal. I think you underestimate how much bookies and polls become a self-fulfilling prophecy, or at least compound the issue, when people are trained to follow the herd. The relentless reliance on bookies and polling are recent things in politics. Democracies tend to produced the terrible notion that truth or goodness is a majority opinion, and few are willing to go against that.
