GOP Chair Won’t Defend Her Uncle Mitt Romney After Witness Vote Backlash

I don't think those who lived on this land prior to colonization have a particular affinity with the word "American". You may want to review that history before speaking for them.

I am not proud of all of American history, certainly embarrassed by this moment of it, as most Americans are. I am proud of what America can be, has often sought to be, and sometimes achieves as a function of its core values.

Otherwise, I have no idea what you're talking about, but you seem to be referring to Republicans as a race. You're aware that it is, instead, a self-chosen identity that generally refers to a continuously evolving range of personally chosen values centralized around a core of fundamental beliefs about the role and function of government... right?

Republican values have not always included the betrayal of American values. Far from it. And unlike Nazis, Republicans still have the opportunity to make "Republican" a respectable word again. But that work has to start, to be completed.
