Nobody is saying “don’t vote for Democrats!” We should definitely be voting for Democrats - you’d be nuts not to in this current fucked up mess. But what we shouldn’t be doing is treating Democrats like they’re perfect little angels simply because they’re “not Trump”. Don’t believe for one second that members of the Democratic Party won’t sell you out if presented with the opportunity. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t vote for them, it just means you shouldn’t sit back and assume the problem has been solved simply because they were elected. Voting is the beginning of political participation, not the end of it. Voting for candidates purely because of the letter at the end of their name is one of the major reasons that the Republican Party has turned into the greed-drenched freak show that it is today. Let’s not do the same with the Democratic Party too. Make them earn our votes and punish them if they don’t.
