Got the XPT100. Massively dissapointed. Did you ever regret following a hype?

But who can you actually "trust"? Even reviewers on YouTube can be paid for promotions and positive reviews. You even have some companies that are just focused on promoting their product on reddit.

You must look at the methodology of a review, not the source where you found it. Here is an example review of JVC HA-Sz2000 by Z reviewer. Look at his methodology, he shows you these headphones are bad, one of his examples to demonstrate is by playing a "string quartet" to show the headphones "dull and muddy" sound.

Look at this again, A string quartet on headphones that are marketed strictly towards people looking for "bass headphones" or bassheads. You are using a poor method to demonstrate why they are bad, those large majority of people who are looking into these headphones are probably not looking to see how the sub-bass response on a Bach's piece is.

Similarly, on OP's headphones amazon page; the first review I see mentions comparing them to ATH-M50 or Sennheiser HD280's andFiiO E10. If you pick them up out of the box, I'm pretty sure you will find a different experience then someone who is using a Fiio E10 to power them. Second reviewer says " the XPT100 works very well as being a relatively flat and analytical headphone without being over the top painful and unflattering to listen to". So and so forth, the emphasis of these headphones were simply put on "comfort" and my impression is that they are good if you are extremely sensitive to having over-the-head headphones or need something "to go" but not really something I would get as an active primary headphone.
