Guardian: Shaw claims Manchester United team has not always been picked on merit

Accusing former managers of playing favourites yeah nothing bitter about that. Do you think Mourinho, LVG, Ole, Moyes will be happy with a player implying they weren’t fair and impartial when making decisions for their team? He doesn’t even call them out by name, why? If you’re going to accuse someone why not name them or is he implying that it’s never been a meritocracy at United until the moment Ten Hag joined. This is just a circlejerk for Ten Hag that’s why these comments aren’t being recognised for how disrespectful they are to accomplished managers.

I read what he said and I reiterate it’s no surprise he’s saying it now, he’s one of the first names on the teamsheet at this moment in time. He didn’t say it when he was benched and he won’t be restating these comments during any period where he’s benched in the future, there’s nothing coincidental about the timing.
