Oh well in that case, who said I live in Mentor? You assume that because I used it in an example? You might actually be an idiot, instead of just someone with an irrational love of a below-average city. I've never seen warehouses full of frozen unwashed hobos in Willoughby, Bedford, Cleveland Heights, North Olmsted, etc either.
Furthermore, even if I do live in Mentor (and I don't), that doesn't mean I don't work in Cleveland-proper. It's actually quite common, as in, the vast majority of the city's physical population, for people to commute. Did you miss that somehow?
And just because that video has truth in it, does not mean it's honest. Because it claringly ignores the rest of the filth that is this town.
insults aside, I think maybe you really have no idea how run down this city is. Most people just kinda drift through life, vaguely aware that there's a seedy underwold just around the corner, but then spend their entire life avoiding it. It's a fairly nice night, and somewhat chilly, so that should keep you safe. Head down to E26th. Ever been there? I thought not. Push your way into NorthCoast Logistics there. Don't worry about that building being condemned and structrually unsound, seriously, it's pretty fine. You'll be horrified at how many people are functionally living in there. Or swing through the rocky river area in a car worth more than your shirt, and wince each time you slam into yet another pothole. YOu can see the original brick paving through a lot of the streets. The only other city I've seen with roads that beat up was Cairo. Or if the night time is still too scary, go hang out in Dave's Market on Payne ave tomorrow. You're practically guaranteed to see at least one mugging if you stick around outside, and I'll put real money on you AT LEAST seeing two shoplifters fight with their underpaid security guard.
This is NOT normal. There are places worse than Cleveland. Much worse. But this city is in the bottom ten in the country. And that's why the video is dishonest. Because if some French tourist watched that piece of propaganda and came to visit, and ended up walking around East Cleveland at 3 am, he or she would be raped, robbed, and stabbed to death before the sun came up.
