Haven't played Magic since Ice Age. M25 and Dominaria have me interested in a comeback. Should I take the plunge?

YSK:

Nostalgia has never been higher. As a player before your time, I am happy as hell to see this set.

Pay to win has never been more prevalent.

The rules and types of cards have changed and expanded.

The speed of the game has accelerated.

Standard is the dominant format for casual and competitive play and most supported by the makers. There are many other styles of play also, Commander being foremost.

The game is very creature heavy. A lot of the spells you remember are now stapled on to everything but instants and sorceries.

The strength of cards while having overall increased still does not compared to the highest end cards people played with in the Ice Age days.
