Healthcare: Sanders vs Paul

If you push strongly enough for what you believe in and are able to generate lots of support from people who would otherwise not vote - you've got a movement (hell this happened with the tea party to some extent). It's easier to do if you have lots of money - during the current system we have. But a lot of people who support Sanders do so because he's looking for ways to make the government more representative of the disenfranchised.

He's different... once in a generation candidate... will solve the corruption issues. Seems I've heard this one before. Unlike the last messiah, however, your candidate has zero chance of winning, so you will have the ability to clutch onto a Bernie Sanders "lost cause," just as the South does to this day about the War.

Well, if opting out means you can leave and not be bound by the rules of the government - then you have that ability. You just don't like what it means. But while you may have a realistic right to opt out, you don't have a realistic right to opt out and have the ideal life (in your mind) as a result.

Are you earnestly suggesting that "anyone may opt out because they could go live in international waters"? I hope you recognize just how asinine and offensive that is. Perhaps when Bernie loses you and he can go make your ideal socialist republic at the bottom of a tar pit somewhere? Governance by consent of the governed is not a joke, and it's not something you can wipe away with a dickish suggesting that people go die at sea.

You don't have a right to get everything you want. Philosophically, you never have. There have always been boundaries which prevented that, though with increasing global population (and therefore increasing competing interests) the rate of conflict for those who want to do their own thing increases.

And again, your justification is that used to tie down slaves. Boy, you were born on this plantation, and you'll die on a plantation. You've got the right to food and shelter, and you may beg your massa for better treatment, but that's about all. You might be permitted to go to another plantation, or you could always go drown yourself. But you'll never live by consent of your government because I say so. And you are proud of this slavemaster philosophy. For shame.

The power of the state is from the people.
