Why the hell should I move to Cleveland?

The funny thing is Id expect a thread like this to get downvoted. If you havent heard it is now cool to live in Cleveland. Houses in my neighborhood right now are not on the market more than 3 weeks. It is amazing. Millennials are snapping thme up.

Why live here? Your rent is 1500? My mortgage on a 3100sq foot home was 1300. That was before I paid it off a few months ago. I have no debt and I own both my cars. THAT is Cleveland for an IT professional with 15 years solid experience.

Tech job making 75k? That is about mid range for a guy with 5 years IT experience here. I make double that. (almost). Check Linkedin and Indeed.

Here do your own calculations. http://money.cnn.com/calculator/pf/cost-of-living/ Here are the results

Price difference Seattle, WA VS Cleveland, OH

Groceries 6% less
Housing 43% less
Utilities 5% more
Transportation 15% less
Health Care 6% less

I just hired a network engineer at your range. Luckily I knew someone who needed the jobs because the resumes I got, were not that great. (so the job market IS healthy)

dunno. Im tired of people shitting on Cleveland. I moved here in 1995 and this place has been a fantastic move.

If you need me.. Ill be on my 30 foot sailboat on lake erie that I paid cash for 2 months ago.

Excuse my tone, I know you are considering a move back. I say it is a perfect move. From what I read people are flocking from cities that used to be popular because of living Costs. Cleveland is perfectly poised for that type of move. The amount of out of state plates I see in this city is amazing.

I moved here from Boston in 1995. (I was born here and was in Cleveland until 8th grade.)
