[Help] Need advice...my dog bit my stepdaughter

Sorry, I wasn't very clear on the timeline of things. I've had him three years but he hasn't lived with all of the kids for three years and hasn't been terrible the entire time. He's just been a dog who prefers not to be bothered much, and we've been respectful of that. He did pretty well when it was just my daughter and I. When my boyfriend started bringing his kids around, I was concerned that it would be overwhelming to him but, over time, it seemed like he was adjusting. I saw things here and there that made me question him being around kids, but it was looking like those things were getting resolved as he got used to everyone. So, I mean, we did basic obedience stuff with him but never went for professional training because he was doing well.

One thing I didn't mention is that I started a new job a few months ago and am pretty much gone all weekend. And it kind of just clicked that his behavior has been worsening since I started this job. It makes sense if my boyfriend is taking care of all of the kids and is struggling to keep up on everything, he maybe isn't supervising and intervening as much so the dog is taking advantage and getting away with being a bully.
