I got a call from my surgeon for a follow up, which means I'll likely get a surgery date.

It's out of town and the original plan was for my mom to come with me and my brother would take care of my dogs + their dog.

But he works and my dogs are just now starting to be ok being left alone for brief periods, and I don't want to ruin that by leaving them alone for 8 hours.

I think I'll likely have to hire a dog sitter for 2-3 days. I think I'll probably ask them to stay at my house, just so that the dogs are at least comfortable in a familiar place.

But I'm so nervous. I know it'll probably be fine, but I've also seen the horror stories people have posted about rover, etc.
