It’s not. It is incredibly disrespectful to the vast majority of NBA fans to say the only reason a guy who is having probably the best start to their career since lebron (maaaybe KD) is this popular is because he’s white. He’s popular because he’s great, young, and most importantly, his team is good. Young, up-and-coming stars on winning teams are always popular, and Luka is probably the best we’ve seen in that category in a long while.

Also, I remember those comments, plus a bunch about Harrell as well, so I won’t deny that race gets brought up and brings out some of the worst people on Reddit in the context of Luka. I just think the amount of his popularity that can be attributed to being white is negligible
