Hinduism spectrum

They don't belong to a sect then, each sect follows certain traditions.Villagers follow religion in a different way, they don't care much about Philosophy.Their aim is to worship the gods & stay devoted to work + family.

Regarding your other questions, what are South India gods? Sri Rudra,Sri Hari & Adisakthi everyone is mentioned in Vedas(which all Hindus don't have to read).

Religion for an avg Hindu is mostly expounded in Epic literature which were recited to villagers in regional languages by village bards(this practice has unfortunately stopped for a long time).

The last commoner/non-priestly Hindu to master the Vedas in Tamilnadu was Raja Raja Cholan(as attested by his inscriptions). After him, no commoner has bothered & will barely bother now to learn anything(let alone the Vedas).

However a lot of Hindus like me are learning now through the internet.

Btw why do you need this information if you're preparing for Jee? I just stalked your profile.
