What’s going on now? Are you arguing against my point, which was against your point, so now you’re arguing your own point?

You are the one who made it sound like the world revolves around the US by using 9/11 as a comparison for covid.

The average person? What does that even mean? Let’s use me as an example. I am a mostly healthy early thirty something chick. I caught covid in late March when I was living directly outside of NYC, and almost died from it. I lost half of my hair because I was so severely ill. Severe pneumonia. Crazy fevers for two full weeks. My oxygen went to 91 at one point—that is literally 1 point above respiratory failure— and I could barely breathe. 70% of my lungs were compromised from the pneumonia. It wasn’t just not being able to breathe but also severe pain with the little amount I could breathe.

I have never ever been that sick in my life. Flu. Strep. Whatever. I would say I am your average person, and though I did not die, I was extremely close and have suffered serious physical consequence from it. I was a long hauler. There are people in way better shape than me who DIED. I mean, who is average to you?? Just because it is literally burning—like a damn wildfire—through any severely ill and elderly that it gets into (is that normal to you??? Flu does not do that!), please do not forget that very young people who have very average health issues: asthma, diabetes, autoimmune disease, all very common chronic illnesses, are DYING. That’s not normal. Forty year old and thirty and twenty. It’s more than the flu takes.

Statistically, I don’t think we have enough evidence to understand all statistics of this virus. It is statistically more deadly than flu, less deadly than actual SARS, and the entire world is pretty much shut down and functioning on money that the government put into it to hold it up. It won’t hold forever. We’re not living in normal times, and if you need to pretend we are to feel good, i guess I can’t deny that to you because it’s kind of a hell hole.
