Hong Kong shuts airport to foreigners indefinitely as cases rise to 914

I think it's unfair to blame western tourists exclusively. The lack of Chinese imported cases is likely due to the negative stereotypes of India as well and the lack of desire to travel there for most citizens. I went to kashmir from China on Jan 22nd, just before wuhan even went into lockdown (remember that it had been nearly a month or more since China knew about the outbreak) . The vast majority of people of Chinese people who I told about my trip would have some remark about rape, poverty, or other negative thing to say. At least most Americans and Europeans who have traveled there can speak positively and try to change those stereotypes.

Many Indian citizens returned home from China and Hong Kong for both the lunar new year and also to escape the scene there once it started spiraling downwards. This was also the case for other nationalities returning to other countries. And as an American, I am aware that the US, Trump specifically, has done one of the worst jobs at handling the outbreak.

Unfortunately now many innocent people are dying due to the virus and lost livelihoods. Many are to blame but hopefully we can unite together to become stronger and learn from our mistakes.
