Ah, with regards to the peacock giving the fruit of grain I'd say that's more similar to a lucifer or prometheus figure than my notion of the Saturnine diety.

Saturn in my mind is like a very busy king who punishes those who fail to grow and live up to life's challenges (with the goal of encouraging humanity to grow, albeit in a bit of a medieval way). Because the spirit is inherently against life, if someone acts purely from a basis of spirit Saturn will appear quite cruel, but really it's humans who are messing it all up by not even understanding that they are siding with the thing (the spirit) that will literally exterminate all life given enough time.

If one bases themselves in the soul, Saturn will not look so cruel. Or so I allege in my hot take.
