How bad is grade inflation at your school?

It's a scandal. I used to be a huge proponent of no zeros, because I came from standards-based grading here the grade ranges were equal (0-1-2-3-4-5), but now I am opposed to anything that isn't the traditional 0-100 system. Whatever people say about the F range being too big is bullshit, the work is accessible enough that the only students getting below 60 are the ones turning in nothing or incomplete work. The motivation argument (i.e. students digging too deep of a hole for themselves) is bullshit too, because in these no-fail classrooms students know the game and play accordingly, turning in nothing and then maybe a few half-assed assignments at the end of term to get up to a C (which your admin will pressure you to find a way to nudge up just a bit to a B).

The equity-in-grading bullshit is more often than not just used as an excuse to inflate grade of students who do little to nothing in class.
