How did your friend destroy the friendship?

I’ve just turned eighteen and have only been (legally) drinking a few times. I’m not terribly socially forward, nor experienced with alcohol and usually end up feeling like the fifth wheel at any event involving alcohol. One of the people who are always there when we go out is an old friend, let’s call him “M”. M seems (to me, at the time) to be a quite experienced and relaxed. I’ve known him since first grade, although we were never that close. Anyway, on this friday night, M unexpectedly calls me up to go drinking with him. Just the two of us. His place, then a visit to a bar, quite casual. I don’t think of it at the time but it’s quite strange that it’s just us. Did he try everyone else? Other invitees who turned it down? So I show up and immediately M insists that we go to his cousin’s. This guy is at least 5 years older and I don’t known. M and the cousin seem to get along very well and I feel left out in between them. They both smoke weed and I don't dare to join in because of my asthma. The saving grace is this girl that shows up, let's call her “J”. J is very nice. The spirit in the room is much more fun when she is around. The only problem is that whenever she isn't in the room. M’s cousin is talking nonstop about what a fucking slut she is and how she will suck M’s cock before the night is over. M soon joins in the insult-bragging which resumes as soon as J is out of the room for any reason. Next up, the party is invaded by M’s cousin’s neighbor's. They are in their 50s and have distilled their own bootleg booze, which they drunkenly try to distribute to us. I finally manage to get through to M and convince that it’s time to go to the bar. All four of us head down and leave the neighbors at M’s cousin’s place, smoking his weed. At the bar, the conversation about what a fucking slut J is continues endlessly. They don’t seem to think she can hear them over the loud music, but I certainly can. I feel terribly uneasy and just want to go home. The only problem is, I got no ride home and the only place I can stay is at M’s house, which he promised me I could do beforehand. It is winter and -15 C outside. I go to the toilet and when I return, M, M’s cousin and J are all gone. I try calling M but there is no response. I stand in the snow outside the bar, wondering what to do. Suddenly, an acquaintance shows, up let’s call him “P”. I haven’t met P in years and don’t really know him that well. He asks if something is wrong and I explain the situation. P immediately offers to let me sleep at his place and drives me home the next day. M never contacted me afterwards. I stopped seeing him. The next time we accidentally bumped into each other, he acted like nothing had changed.
