It doesn't matter what others think about you, what matters is what you think about yourself.

If the words "You are a bad person" have any kind of sting, it's because the phrase holds a sliver of truth.

Being a good person isn't easy. It requires more than just nice words and good intentions, it requires action, personal sacrifice, dealing with problems that aren't your responsibility to deal with, and all kinds of trouble you can hardly begin to imagine right now.

"Oh no! A bunch of losers who dedicate their time and effort into making other people sad have decided they don't like me! What a terrible loss this is! Truly I'm now a much weaker person as a result..."

If those words sound stupid, they should. You don't need those jerkbags and morons in order to get your life together start living as a good person. Leave them in the dust, ignore them.

Who we are as individuals is defined by our choices and actions. These people who you're so worked up by are literally villains. Their actions are villainous. They have chosen to be badguys. The LAST thing you should want is to join them or fight back. That's a badguy game, the only people who play that game are badguys.

You are the main character in the story of your life. You get to choose how the story goes.
